The luster on some of our favourite models, however, is diminished by a factor known as “The Footballers Car“.

British footballers (soccer players to our US readers) are renowned for having a lot of money but not that much class, so if they like a particular model, it doesn’t necessarily do the brand any favours. Unfortunately Aston Martin is one of those brands. We love the DB9, DBS and Vantage, but so do half the footballers in the English Premier League.

So what we are really looking for is a vehicle which has all the grace, style and power of an Aston, but without the reputation. And we think we have found that vehicle in the shape of the Maserati GranCabrio.

It is beautiful, Italian, and has four full seats. And a soft top. And the looks are to die for. What more can you ask for?
